Biography

Dr. Roy's writing, research, and service are centered on indigenous cultural heritage development. She recently has worked with iSchool students in studying how libraries serve military veterans. She studies literacy efforts. She serves on the Editorial Team of the European Conference on Information Literacy, contributing to the production of the annual conference program and published proceedings and serves on the Library of Congress Literacy Awards. She is currently exploring collaborations with "The Right Information: Information Skills for a 21st Century Scotland" research community. She was the 1997-1998 President of the American Indian Library Association (AILA) and the 2007-2008 President of the American Library Association (ALA).

A.S., 1977, Medical Radiologic Technology, and B.T., 1977, Allied Health, both from the Oregon Institute of Technology; M.L.S., 1980, University of Arizona; Ph.D., 1987, Library and Information Science, University of Illinois, Urbana.
