Biography

Red Wassenich received both his B.S. (Radio-TV-Film) and Master of Library and Information Science degrees from UT Austin. He was a librarian at the American Museum of Natural History and a copy editor for Putnam Publishing in New York. He returned to Austin and was a librarian at Austin Community College for 32 years His main focus at ACC was teaching information literacy courses. He semi-retired in 2016.

He created Keep Austin Weird in 2000 and has published two guides to Austin oddities. He has also self-published a novel and collection of short stories.
