Accessibility Hackathon w/ Knowbility
Noon to 5 p.m.
UTA 1.210A

The iSchool’s IT Team and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee will be co-sponsoring an Accessible Web Demonstration and Hackathon on Friday, October 26, 2018 in the iSchool IT Lab (UTA 1.210) from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The iSchool is partnering with Knowbility, a locally-based non-profit whose mission is to, "support the independence of children and adults with disabilities by promoting the use and improving the availability of accessible information technology.”  Knowbility is bringing in volunteers who will demonstrate assistive technologies used in the service of accessing Web and other digital content.  Later, you will have a chance to hack on the iSchool Website to help us improve our accessibility score as determined by the WorldSpace auditing tool, and used by UT’s Division of Diversity and Community Engagement.

Food and drinks will be provided! Space is limited, so we ask that you please RSVP prior to the event. Attendance will be based on a first come, first served basis.  We had a great turnout last year and look forward to another great event this year.  NO PRIOR WEB OR CODING EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO ATTEND.
