DESCRIPTION

Practical skills and understandings required to effectively work with open source software and understand the projects that build them. Includes git-based collaboration as well as conceptual understanding of licenses, security, technical and social processes in open source development. Class projects involve working with digital trace data from open source repositories.

PREREQUISITES

Informatics 304 and 310D.

RESTRICTIONS

Informatics majors will have top registration priority through the early periods of registration. Informatics minors are encouraged to join the waitlist, which will begin promoting students on December 12 if seats remain available.

All other students will need to complete this Registration Support Questionnaire in order to request a seat in any of our classes.
