Congratulations to iSchool students on setting a new record in the seventh annual iGive campaign!
Philanthropy is vital to the School of Information. Each year foundations, corporations and hundreds of individuals support the school financially as well as with gifts of their time through volunteering. These donors give back through financial gifts that range from an annual donation of $5 to gifts of thousands. The school also has more than 30 volunteer advisory council members who are committed to its advancement, and countless other volunteers who come back to give their time in the classroom as well as in our career services office. In celebration of the support these donors provide the school, iSchool students participated in the seventh annual iSchool iGive Campaign.
With 134 students logging 14,902 volunteer hours in Fall 2017, the school achieved new heights for participants as well as the number of hours contributed to our community.
Students volunteered for a wide range of organizations and causes. Some chose to pursue opportunities related to their career interests in libraries, archives, and museums, while others devoted time to political campaigns, the Humane Society, the Girl Scouts, and many other nonprofit and volunteer efforts.
