I. Archives Week
- Speakers
- Ben reported that Texas Freedom of Information Foundation have a lawyer
in mind to speak. We decided that Tuesday would be the preferred date
for the speech.
- After much discussion, the group decided to postpone inviting Steve
Hensen until spring 2003.
- Reception:
- Molly reported that she secured the Box Athenaeum for the reception
after Andras' speech. Traci will continue to investigate catering
options for the reception.
- Fundraising
- We estimated that we have approximately 40 mugs left. We will not order
more at the moment.
- Molly reported that Dean Dillon agreed to donate another $100 as a result
of her meeting.
- Ben will contact the Cabinet of College Councils.
- Ben and Molly decided to work together on fundraising
- We discussed the need to pursue funding from the more general standpoint
of supporting the chapter's activities, not just archives week.
- Publicity
- Stephen reported that the Archives Week website will be up soon. If
anyone has any suggested links for the resources section, please forward
them
- Addy is continuing with the registration process for our new domain
name, "studentarchivists". She will know if we have secured it by the
end of the week.
- We discussed the possible ramifications within the department of switching
from the GSLIS server to the Student Organization server. We ultimately
decided that we should continue to pursue our own domain name.
- Erin and Molly have discussed the Television and print publicity.
- The group discussed producing posters and postcards. Stephen, Addy,
Molly and Trish will get together next week to work on a design.
- Traci reported that the AHC would like to simulcast part of the clinic
using their new video conferencing equipment. Dr. Gracy suggested that
we co-ordinate the invited experts so that they are there over the time
of the simulcast.
- Traci showed the group a copy of an incomplete "Archives Week" brochure
produced by last year's organizers. We can complete it and have it to
hand out at the Clinic.
- Dr. Gracy reported that the proposed SAA/PCS mixer needs to take place
at a venue other than his house. October 4th was proposed for a date and
Deep Eddy was suggested as a venue.
Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm
