- Dr. Gracy and Dr Galloway will be in attendance.
- Objectives of the meeting are to discuss current “core” courses—should there be changes? Looking for input about Archives classes –meant to be a very open forum where anything to do with the archival curriculum can be discussed.
- Dr. Galloway will present the possibility of “Archival Engineering” focus.
- The creation of a SAA professional archival journal discussions group will addressed. Looking for input about Archives classes –very open forum about anything.

Archives Week
Mary Anne opened the floor to theme ideas, speakers, and activities for the 2004 Archives Week.
Suggestions:
- Mary Anne: –election week –focus on something with: Accountability
- April: privacy issues—as main topic –lectures on finer topic.
- Don: equal time to accountability and privacy.
- : Privacy and digital records
- Vanessa: accountability and privacy are two sides of the same thing, cannot discuss accountability without covering privacy; get political officials to speak.
- Dr. Gracy: does secrecy tie into these topics—how do you hold Government accountable when the administration keeps records closed because of secrecy and security.
- Mary Anne: Mississippi Records
Without a vote all in attendance seem all agreed that accountability is the tentative topic.
Lecture Time of lectures:
- Not Tuesday because of voting.
- Saturday has already been reserved for a clinic.
- We need to get news about the weeks activities into the local newspapers—so we have to plan early. This takes more planning than any of the other parts.
- Look into getting to Genealogists attend.
- Dr Gracy: We have to look into how many speakers we will want because after all we need to be there too—so time constraints need to be considered.
- Funding for speakers was discussed. Maybe SAA should team up with other departments as an option to bring in important speakers.
SAA Summer Activities
- Summer schedule for SAA meetings discussed. All members will be here summer. It was decided to meet over the summer. All will decide on a convenient time for meeting times once registration is over and every one knows their schedules.
- Cactus Yearbook folks want picture of SAA board.

- Potential Fall 2004 workshops:

- Next Meeting to be held in mid May; emails will be sent out.
- Meeting called to a close by Mary Anne at 1:58 p.m.
- Fix Blackman—papers as topic not speaker—through John not Dr.G
