Mexico Trip Tentative Itinierary
Friday, April 23
Leave Austin at 6 or 7 am and arrive at in Edinburg for lunch. Have lunch at Willie B's Barbecue. $10
Visit the special collections department at the The University of Texas - Pan American (Edinburg), and/or the Museum of South Texas History (Edinburg).
Hop over to McAllen and look for a nice $40 a night hotel rooms.
Have dinner at the Alonzo's for some Paella.
Saturday, April 24
Go over to Reynosa and see the Reynosa Municipal Archives with Pedro Campos. See the "World's Largest Killer Bee" in Hidalgo on our way to Reynosa.
Depending on the order, visit the Brownsville Historical Museum, then to the
Casa Mata Museum in Matamoros with Andres Cuellar. Visit the Museo de Arte
Contemporaneo de Tamaulipas.
Stay the evening and night in Matamoros at the Hotel Colonial, downtown. Dinner at Cafe Latino or Aromas. hotel $20 dinner $15
Sunday, April 25
Sunday morning, head out to Raymondville. Brunch at the Casa Blanca Restaurant. 1p to 2p, the Raymondville Historical Museum. $10
Return to Austin ~9pm.
Total estimated cost per person~ $100-150
