Tailored Programs

The School of Information's master's curriculum offers a number of options for students to craft a concentration or specialization once they have completed their required courses. All students interested in any of our tailored programs must complete general procedures for admission and are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor.

Endorsement of Specialization

A certificate which recognizes a successful completion of 12 semester credit hours of planned cohesive study within the 40 semester credits hours required for the MSIS program.

Certificate of Advanced Study

The Certificate of Advanced Study recognizes completion of 12 additional semester credit hours dedicated to specialized coursework.

Portfolio Programs

iSchool students interested in a cross-disciplinary academic area of inquiry are welcome to participate in one of the many Graduate Portfolio Programs offered by UT while completing requirements for their MSIS degree.
