Dr. Suzanne Barber is the AT&T Endowed Professor in Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Center for Identity at The University of Texas at Austin, delivering the highest quality identity management discoveries, applications, education and outreach available serving our nation's citizens and our nation's industrial, government, and academic institutions to aggressively combat current, emerging, and future identity management threats and fraud.
Previously serving as the Director of Software Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Barber led the cross-disciplinary Center for Excellence in Distributed Global Environments (EDGE) bringing together departments from across The University of Texas to address multi-faceted challenges presented by distributed engineering teams and distributed computation and information exchange.
Dr. Barber has published over 300 articles in refereed publications documenting innovations in the areas of information assurance, cyber-trust, cyber-security, identity management, intelligent agent-based systems, and software engineering. Dr. Barber has invented and commercialized core technologies that provide unprecedented levels of project/system visibility and knowledge discovery to all stakeholders by keeping contributors fully informed, coordinated and operating at targeted quality levels.
Professionally, Dr. Barber has served on numerous conference and government committees (Defense Science Study Group, Army Science Board). Dr. Barber currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC).
