My favorite part of being at the iSchool was learning from my peers and faculty from such diverse disciplinary backgrounds. As a graduate student interested in librarianship, I benefited as much from my UX design and research classes as I did my Graduate Research Position with UT Libraries. Library students and librarians have to do a lot of work dispelling misconceptions about our field, so get practice talking about libraries with your peers in other tracks and in different departments. Same goes for the non-library students! Librarianship is evolving and there are a lot of different roles you can explore while in school through your courses, participation in student orgs, and internships.
