Elly Stevens

“I really get a thrill when I'm able to help people find the information that they need to do their jobs.”

Elly Stevens got her BA in Theatre from Southwestern University in Geogetown, Texas, and after graduating she worked for an intellectual property law firm as a file clerk and then as a legal assistant. "Working with vast portfolios and around the physical/digital divide really opened my eyes to how important the organization of information really is," Elly says. "I decided to get my MSIS so that I could help users tame their daily information overload."

As a corporate librarian for Cirrus Logic, a company which develops high-precision integrated circuits for a variety of audio and energy-related applications, Elly's duties are quite varied. Her current projects include setting up a corporate library, developing knowledge management strategies across the company, becoming a "SharePoint Queen," migrating several teams from physical to digital document management systems, advising on software purchases, and establishing best practices for engineering documentation. Since starting at the company in June, she has carved out a physical space for her library, developed a strategic plan, purchased an ILS, negotiated a contract with the IEEE for corporate access to their digital library, helped lead a team effort to reorganize sales documentation in SharePoint, and researched numerous document management systems for Cirrus Logic's Human Resources department.
