Alumna rejoins school as career development director

One of the School of Information’s own graduates has returned as the director of career development.

 

Beth Hallmark brings more than 20 years of experience as a hiring manager and communications leader to the iSchool. She joined the team in September from Austin-based Hanger Inc., where she was director of public relations and communications.

 

School's career development director has resigned

School of Information Dean Andrew Dillon has announced the resignation of Career Development Director Tara Iagulli.

Holding the position for six years, Iagulli transformed career services at the school, along with its reputation as an educator of future leaders, Dillon said.

iSchool Careers: Speed Interviewing

When Stefanie Roberts froze up on the first question of the Speed Interviewing event in February, the irony wasn't lost on her.

The question? "What makes you an effective communicator, and what can you do to improve your communication?"

Roberts, who started at the iSchool in January, recovered, gave her answer and, more importantly, received constructive feedback. Then, feeling more poised, she moved on to another table where a different interviewer threw another question at her. Within an hour, she had fielded 12 questions from 12 different people.
