Theories and methods of Internet language and image interpretation. Examines persuasion, group and individual identity projection, and group-value demonstration. Focuses on how discourse is shaped by ideology, social forces, and the knowledge and beliefs of its producers within several information contexts, such as online communities, education, science, and healthcare.

Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
