DESCRIPTION

Examines misinformation, disinformation and other forms of networked manipulation, which can function not only to deceive and create divisions, but also to diminish trust in information intermediaries such as journalism and science. Readings and activities provide the basis for exploring problems with, causes of and solutions to these phenomena.

PREREQUISITES

Graduate standing.

RESTRICTIONS

Restricted to graduate degree seekers in the School of Information during registration periods 1 and 2. Remaining seats will be made available to outside students on August 19th. Interested non-iSchool students may request a seat reservation by completing this Registration Support Questionnaire.
