Call for proposals

Applications for doctoral students and faculty are now closed. Applications for the Emerging Archival Scholars Program are now closed.

Deadline: February 3, 2013

The goal of these institutes is to strengthen education and research as well as support the development of cohorts and mentorship networks. The institute accepts applications from all archival faculty and doctoral students, and will include current research, methodological approaches, curriculum development, and mentoring components. Each attendee at AERI will be expected to make a research-related contribution. In order to ensure all graduate students have the opportunity to present their original research this year, faculty may request to focus solely on mentoring and/or evaluative roles at AERI.

All undergraduate, master's students, doctoral students, recent doctoral graduates, and faculty undertaking education, research, and teaching activities relating to Archival Studies from U.S. and international institutions are eligible to attend. Due to space limitations, application does not guarantee admission. Your application will be used to assess eligibility as well as the range of the interests of potential participants. Because space for the Institute is limited and application forms received after February 3 may not be accepted. Please note: the language of the Institute will be English. Click on the links below for more information, and to apply!

Doctoral students should propose to contribute to the institute in ONE of the following ways. Mutliple proposals (i.e. for different types of contributions) may be submitted, but only one will likely be accepted. (Presentation contributions are optional for incoming and first-year docotral students):

  • Research Presentation
  • Research Poster
  • Workshop

Faculty participants should propose one of the following ways in which to contribute to the institute. Mentorship is expected from all faculty members regardless of other contributions:

  • Research Presentation
  • Research Poster
  • Workshop
  • Primary mentor to one or more students
  • Session chair or session commentator

Emerging Archival Scholars are bachelor or masters students who have not completed a masters degree by the start of AERI 2013. (Please note: the deadline for Emerging Scholars Applications is April 8, 2013. All other proposals are due February 3, 2013.)
