UT iSchool dean stepping down in 2017

Andrew Dillon has announced he will resign as dean of the School of Information in 2017 to return to the faculty. Since joining the iSchool in 2002, Dillon has led major revisions of the school’s mission, curriculum and organizational structure.

School of Information enrolls 100 new students

The School of Information is welcoming nearly 100 new students for the Fall 2016 semester. From Nepal to France and Japan to Zimbabwe, nearly every continent is represented in the iSchool’s 2016-17 enrollment. Dean and Professor Andrew Dillon said the diversity of students’ personal backgrounds and geographic origins will complement the breadth of courses offered by the iSchool.

iSchool, English Department to offer dual master's degree

The School of Information has added its seventh dual master’s degree. The new program, a partnership with the Department of English, is geared toward students who wish to combine a research interest in English with the professional and intellectual opportunities available in the field of Information Studies.

School of Information Associate Professor Ciaran B. Trace has been named editor of the iSchool's quarterly publication, Information & Culture: A Journal of History. The journal examines the role of information from a historical perspective.
