UTASIS&T Mail List

The UT ASIS&T mail list is a discussion forum for chapter members to discuss topics of interest to the group as a whole. It is an open list and anyone can subscribe. Subscribers are approved automatically and immediately. The list is administered by one or more members of the School of Information, usually an elected UT ASIS&T co-director. It should be noted that the UTASIS&T blog is a more suitable forum for discussions that may be of future interest as blog entries and comments are saved and can be searched.

Go to UTASIST subscribe page.

To post a message:

Send your message to: utasist@utlists.utexas.edu.

Only subscribers may post to the list. This means that if you attempt to post a message from an email address different from the one you used when you subscribed, you will get an error message and your mail will not go through.

List etiquette:

The list can be as active as participants choose to make it, and any topic can be introduced and discussed. However, if discussions continue at length between two or three people only, it may be necessary to ask those interested in the subject to continue it off-list. The listowners require that comments be written with professionalism and politeness in mind. List owners reserve the right to limit discussions that become unproductive, spiteful, or debasing to others. The language of the messages should never contain expletives or profanity. The list owners reserve the right to remove or unsubscribe a member without notice for failing to abide by these guidelines.

The following topic is always off-topic: Discussion regarding whether a post or thread is off-topic or appropriate. Please email your concerns and frustrations regarding an off-topic or inappropriate post or thread to the list owners at utasist@ischool.utexas.edu.

Replying:

Clicking “reply” to a post will reply to the list, not the individual who sent the post.
