This tutorial complements the Business
Source Premier Database Tutorial I by providing concrete
examples of sample searches as well as instructions
on how to set up a personal account within the database
to facilitate patrons' full enjoyment of helpful features.
Example #1
1) Select the "Advanced
Search Keyword" tab and the “Keyword”
sub-tab.
2) Type in "ipod"in the
"Find" box.
3) Enter January 2005 to December
2005 in the "Published Date" box.
4) Change the "Document
Type" to "Product Review."
Example #2: Locate a company profile
for Wal-Mart.

Click on “Company
Profiles” tab.
-
Browse the alphabetical list of
companies for “Wal-Mart”
or type “Wal-Mart”
in the “Browse for”
box.

Select “Match Any
Words” box and click “Browse.”
Example #3: Find the industry profile
for agriculture in the United States.

Select the “Advanced
Search” tab and the “Keyword”
sub-tab.
-
Type in “agriculture”
in the first “Find”
box.

Use the operator “and”
to search for both terms.

Type “United States”
in the second box.
-
In the “Publication
Type” field, select “industry
profile.”
Exploring Advanced Features in Business
Source Premier
Signing-up for a Personal Account:
Personal accounts allow users to save search results,
alerts and web pages to your personal folder for future
reference. To create a personal account:

Click on “Sign
in to my EBSCOhost”.

Click on “I’m a new
user”.
-
Fill out your name and email address;
choose a user name and password.
Once you set up your account and
log in, you can save your results. Click on the “Add”
icon to add the item to your folder.
