"Psalm 50:4-9, Christ washing the disciples' feet"

folio 64 v: Psalm 50:4-9, Christ washing the disciples' feet

TRANSLATION
"Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sins.
For I acknowledge my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only have I sinned,
and done this evil in your sight -
That you may be found just when you speak
and blameless when you judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity
and in sin my mother conceive me.
Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts
and in the hidden part you will make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hissop and I shall be clean
Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make my hear joy and gladness that the bones you have broken may rejoice."

DESCRIPTION

The illustration appears in the bottom margin of the page. Christ, wearing an apron-towel around his waist, bends himself and washes St. Peter's feet. The other disciples sit on a bench, waiting for the same procedure. A blue link connects the illustration with the text, and an inscription appears above the illustration, stating "the washing."
