Listserv:

The SAA-UT-STUDENT listserv is a discussion list created to facilitate communication between archives students and professionals in related disciplines. Subscription is open to the public. Announcements concerning activities of interest to the Austin archival community will be posted on the list.

How to join:

1. Go to the listserv at https://utlists.utexas.edu/sympa/info/saa-ut-students .
2. Click on "Subscribe" and enter your email address. (An email containing your password will be sent to that adress. If you are already subscribed to The Insider or The Flipsider, it should be the same password.)
3. Enter the password into the website window to finish subscribing.
4. A "Welcome" email will be sent to you.
5. Once subscribed, you will be able to change your preferences for the list under "Subscriber Options".

How to join the national SAA Student Discussion List:

You must have an SAA profile to join the SAA Student Listserv, even if you are not a national member. To find/create your SAA profile, start with Step 1. If you already know your SAA profile username and password, you may skip to Step 5.

1. Go to the SAA intranet page at http://saa.archivists.org/Scripts/4Disapi.dll/ .
2. Click on "Find/create your SAA profile" in the left hand column.
3. Enter your surname into the box and click "enter".
4. A list of members with that surname will appear:
   1. If your name appears, click on retrieve. Your log-on information will be sent to your email address.
   2. If your name does not appear, click on "Create an SAA Profile", enter your information, and click on "submit". Your log-on information will be sent to your email address.
5. On the SAA intranet page , click on "login".
6. Enter your username and password, then click on "log on".
7. On the left hand side of the page, click on "My SAA Profile".
8. From the drop down menu, choose "Email Discussion List Subscriptions" and click "Go".
9. Scroll down to the "SAA Student List" line.
10. Enter the email address you wish to subscribe.
11. In the drop down menu, choose "Subscribe Single" if you'd like to receive an email for each one sent to the listserv or "Subscribe Digest" if you'd like to receive one email combining all emails sent to the listserv in one day.
12. Click on the "submit changes" button.
13. As a member of the national SAA, you may follow steps 10-12 for any of the listservs on the "Email Discussion List Subscriptions"page.
