Bio
Don began his Ph.D. program in the fall of 2000. He has concentrated on courses dealing with organization and retrieval of information. He has served as a TA since he has been in the program and as Ph.D. Webmaster. He was elected to represent the School of Information students to the Graduate Student Assembly and later to represent all UT graduate students to the GSA Executive Committee as Electronic Resources Coordinator and Webmaster and Co-Chair. During his time at UT, the Graduate student Assembly sponsored him to represent graduate students on 21 university committees including the Tuition Policy Advisory Committee and Graduate Student Workers Benefit Committee. He also has served on the School of Information Committee for Undergraduate Programs and Curriculum Oversight Committees. Before coming to UT, Don worked as an electrical engineer, communications specialist, and computer specialist in the Department of Defense, Defense Information Systems Agency, Defense Communications Command, and Air Force Communications Command. His most recent positions included Chief Information Officer, Oklahoma City Area Command, Department of Defense, and Director of Defense Megacenter Warner-Robins, Georgia.
