Welcome
I am a second-year IMLS Doctoral Preservation Fellow in the School of Information at The University of Texas at Austin. My research interests are in international issues involving the preservation of cultural materials. In particular, I am looking at how those in the information studies field approach the increasing demand for oral history archives in technologically underdeveloped nations when the infrastructures to share such histories are not yet in place. Other matters I would like to pursue include determining what measures can be taken to protect the intellectual property rights of indigenous people,and to better understand the difficulty in establishing international preservation protocols due to differing cultural perspectives of what is "preservation."
