About Me
Why Graduate School
Several reasons:
- Convenience — as full-time staff here at UT, I might as well take advantage of my staff education benefit. Plus, I’m already on campus. Nice! The only drawback is I’m only taking one class at a time.
- Curiosity — all I know of Web design has been self-taught and on-the-job kind of training. I’m taking the time now to expand on my knowledge.
- Consulting — my freelance work has always been on the side. One day, I’d like to go all the way and work as a full-time consultant, helping clients with Web design, usability, and accessibility.
Now that I’m into the program, I’m very happy to say I really enjoy the classes and the people. This school is filled with bright, talented, and friendly folks.
Background
My education background is in graphic design and advertising. Turns out it’s a great compliment to information studies because both are very user/audience focused and concerned with the delivery of a message.
