WEEKLY QUESTION AND ANSWER

Assignment Title: Weekly Question and Answer.

Participation: Individual.

Due date: Tuesday, six (6) days after the posting of the question.

Format: One or two informal paragraph discussion board posts.

Submission Method: Post to the discussion board, Weekly Questions topic under the appropriate question subtopic.

Maximum points: Part of course participation.

Introduction: In a classroom situation, students get to know each other by sitting next to others, discussions during breaks, and working with each other on assignments. In a Web-based class, getting to know each other is more difficult. One intent of this assignment is to help students develop closer working relationships.

Goals: The goals of this assignment are twofold:

  • To allow the students to show their knowledge of the subjects being taught in the course on a continuing basis.

  • To provide the professor feedback on the progress of the students. (Are students comprehending the material.)

Task: For this assignment, the professor or the TAs will publish a question on the weekly Questions topic on the discussion board. The student will provide a thoughtful one- or two-paragraph response citing material learned through course readings and class discussion as appropriate. Responses and citations may be informal as they would be in a classroom setting.
