Late Breaking News
05/06/03: Final Papers available online (password protected)

04/16/03: Usability Test Report Outline from Dumas and Redish (1999). Thanks Danielle!

04/04/03: John Slatin forwarded Dr. Bias an accessibility resource list and noted he'd be availiable to discuss accessibiliy for final projects the week of the 14th.

03/28/03: Three notes from Dr Bias:
  • (Paid) Dell Internship in Human Factors open to iSchool Students this summer.

  • Danielle has found this online education for testing human participants. I haven't taken it yet; let's do it together (i.e., in parallel) this week.

  • Here's some more reading, as part of the "pulling it all together." On reserve in the IT lab is User-Center Design: An Integrated Approach, by Vredenburg, Isensee (yes, the same one), and Righi.

Read Chapter 4. Chapter 2 lays out the IBM UCD approach, which Jack Alford told us about. But Chapter 4 gives you the "how to" stuff.

  • 03/21/03: The books from Dr Bias's handout are available in the top IT Lab reserve drawer.

    03/07/03: Links from yesterday's class:
  • Vignette Presentation (835 KB, ppt)

  • IBM Presentation
    (1.1 MB, ppt)

  • Ethics Presentation
    (83 KB, ppt)

  • Dr Bias's Final Project Notes
    (doc)

  • 03/06/03: Several people's white paper presentations are now availiable here. If yours isn't posted, please email a copy to patrick@clockwerks.com

02/07/03: In anticipation of our visit to BMC, look around the web for articles on "task analysis," "user profiling," and "requirements gathering."
    For example: 1 & 2.
