Current Condition: The case has become detached from the text block and represents the main component in the deterioration of the item. Additionally the endsheets have deteriorated and need to be addressed.
Proposed Treatment: The existing spine lining should be cleaned off and a new lining attached with paste. The endsheets need some stabilization with Japanese tissue. Once treated the endsheets will be reattached to the existing cover with a tissue hinge. Additionally the cover needs slight reinforcement to areas in the joints at the head and tail of the book.
