I am doctoral student and CDLF fellow at the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. After years of working as a librarian and information specialist, I am pursuing my doctoral degree in information studies while investigating issues of community information sharing behaviors, particularly in respect to the use and creation of digital resources. I am interested in learning how specialized information (and sometimes misinformation) moves from communities of experts into the areas of broader public consumption, how credibility is established, and how values-conscious methodologies can be a part of information study.
I am also collaborating with my faculty mentor, Lynn Westbrook, on her work into the use of formal and informal information networks by survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV).
