7 Teen Programming Ideas

(1) Host a brown bag lunch in the library for students. Invite a speaker or have teens booktalk their favorite books.

(3) You've probably made sock puppets, but what about goth puppets?

(2) Does the thought of raw fish gross you out? Making candy sushi is a easy and fun way to draw teens into the library.

(4) Earth Day is April 22nd. Why not celebrate by making recycled art? This can be a fun way to use up all of those old catalog cards!

(5) Click here for a tutorial from 3M on how to make a duct tape wallet. Warning: this project can be tedious and is better for older teens

(6) Provide fabric, buttons, needles, and thread for teens to make "stupid creatures" and then have teens write a short story featuring their stupid creature as the protagonist.

(7) Host a murder mystery in the library! Here are some other ideas from the Plano Public Library System.

Here are other suggestions from ALA on how to celebrate Library Week with teens.
