DESCRIPTION / CONDITION
The magazine is one of four issues treated this semester. Constructed in the style of a pamphlet with one section consisting of 29 folios, it possess rusty staples at the head and tail. Holes at the spine edge detail that the magazines once existed as an oversewn structure.
The smooth clay coated paper was printed on by offset lithography. The paper cover is split at the spine, and there are minor tears throughout, especially at the spine tail. Surface grime and foxing are predominant.

Objective: To repair the detached paper cover of the magazine and to provide it with a better option of fastening that the current staples, such as sewing in the style of a pamphlet. To house the magazine together in a protective enclosure.
Materials used:
Heat-set tissue (Bookmakers)
Ethanol

1. The rusty stapled were removed mechanically.
2. Using vinyl erasers crumbs, the leaves were cleaned mechanically.
3. The paper cover folio was repaired using heat set tissue (activated by ethanol and by thermal means) on both the inside and outside of the folio.
4. The interiormost folio was guarded with heat set tissue, as were minor tears through the magazine.
5. The folio was resewn in the style of a pamphlet, using the original staple holes at the head and tail with two holes added at the center.
6. The issue was housed with other volumes in a protective enclosure crafted by a fellow conservator.
