Hello! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the schools for their involvement in “A Gathering of Readers”! We had 30 schools across the world participate in the online celebration during National Library Week 2008. We are happy that so many schools could be a part of this unique event! During the week, many schools wrote us and told us of the exciting ways their students were using the Gathering of Readers Web site and celebrating National Library Week. It was great to hear how students were engaged in learning about native cultures, authors, and reading. But, remember – the Web site is available year round and we invite you to visit the site throughout the year. Also remember the Adventures of Rabbit and Bear Paws Art Contest is open until June 4th, 2008 so we encourage your students to still enter. Although this year’s National Library Week has come to a close, next year’s Gathering of Readers event is set to take place during National Library Week 2009, April 12-18. We hope you will participate again in this event with us.
