"Three Wishes"
Once, there lived a family of hedgehogs. They lived in a mud
covered home on the edge of a moss covered wood. There were five
members of the Hedgehog family.
There was Mr. Hedgehog.
There was Mrs. Hedgehog.
There was Boris Hedgehog.
There was Doris Hedgehog.
And there was little Morris Hedgehog, who is a baby and
sleeps through our entire story.
One day, Mrs. Hedgehog told Boris and Doris that they needed
to go to Mrs. Skunk's house to drop off a jar of pickled prickly pear
preserves. Mrs. Skunk was very sick with a terrible cold and pickled
prickly pear preserves always made her feel better. So, Boris and Doris
bundled up in the hedgehog coats and made their way through the moss
covered wood.
As they were walking through the woods, Boris and Doris heard
a cry for help. They started running towards the sound and found a
beautiful eagle caught in a branch.
"Please, oh please help me" the eagle cried. Boris started
climbing the tree. Unfortunately, he accidentally dropped Mrs. Skunk's
pickled prickly pear preserves and the preserves broke and splattered
all over the side of the tree. Boris continued to climb to the top,
with Doris right behind him.
Soon, they were able to loosen the trap and the eagle was
able to fly free.
"Oh thank you so much for your help" the eagle said. "Please
allow me to reward you for your kindness and bravery."
"But how, you are only an eagle?" asked Boris.
"Ah, but I am a great eagle. I have the ability to grant the
two of you three wishes. Please use these wishes wisely, for you are
only allowed three — no more, no less."
Boris and Doris sat on a log and thought about their good
fortune and about what they would wish for.
What do Boris and Doris
Hedgehog wish for and how do each of these wishes change their lives?
You decide and write the ending to the story.
