Handmade Marbled Papers

Floating acrylic paint colors were transferred from the surface of a carrageen size to sheets of paper. The colors were dispensed using whisks, eye droppers and mouth atomizers. Patterns were created using marbling combs, rakes and a stylus.

Paste Papers

Methyl cellulose paste, mixed with acrylic paints, was brushed onto dampened sheets of paper. Patterns were made by various methods: stippling with a brush; combing with spoons, trowels or cuts of binder's board; stamping with cans, plastic lids, foam or brayers.
