Current Research Interests:  I am interested in several areas including the role of  the librarian in schools, the information needs of at-risk students, and librarians as leaders.

Conducted study using existing TEA data and surveys to see if there was a correlation between student achievement and access to online databases in the school library

Created an advocacy video explaining results and need for databases that could be used in presenatations to community stakeholders and legislators

                Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Spring 2008

Created survey to find out about librarian concerns

Discussed leadership and group dynamics with district library coordinator

Spoke to CFISD librarians about leadership and advocacy on March 13, 2008 in two hour workshop

Presented workshops for campus, district, and Region IV Educational Service Center including

creating and using rubrics to improve instruction,

revising writing with reluctant students, and

using enticing literature and reading strategies to accelerate students in meeting the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Planned and taught adult computer class for one year.
