Abbie Hava Weiser Named 2006 Outstanding Graduate

At the iSchool Fall 2007 Convocation, Danielle Plumer, President of the Beta Eta Chapter of Beta Phi Mu honored Abbie Weiser as the outstanding graduate for calendar previous year, 2006. The outstanding graduate is selected by faculty vote based upon a combination of scholastic accomplishment and service within the iSchool. Abbie, a Processing Archivist with the Special Collections at the University of Texas at El Paso, receives a framed certificate and her name is added to the plaque at the iSchool identifying previous Outstanding Students.

Beta Eta Chapter Honors 4.0 GPA Students with Luncheon

4.0 GPA Lunch Participants

Beta Eta Chapter sponsored a luncheon for iSchool students who have maintained a 4.0 GPA at the Campus Club. Beta Eta iSchool sponsor Ron Pollock and Danielle Plumer, President of Beta Eta Chapter hosted the luncheon and provided the students with information about the history of Beta Phi Mu and the Beta Eta Chapter, as well as chapter activities and the nomination process. During a discussion of possible future involvement was a proposal for Beta Eta to suppliment travel grants for students selected to attend professional conferences to present papers or posters. The proposal will be presented to the general membership at the next meeting. Students attending included: Snowden Becker, Maggie DeBaldo, Alex Hershey, Emily Hersh, and Allison King. Keep up the great work.
