1. The Kentucky State Library has created a project named "Endeavor Consortium" that consists of collaboration with 13 universities and 2 hub sites to access and share information as exemplified in these two methods: (1) virtual reference desk, (2) online reference service available 24/7.
2. Digital Library provides access to Special Collections and Archives, thus providing access to these materials previously unavailable to persons offsite this department.
3. Digitize materials from Special Collections and Archives and make those rare items available to everybody that is interested in historic preservation, for example being able to read a Civil War diary without being inside the Archives department.
4. The creation of finding aids to assist in the accession of materials and by using this tool, the public can learn how to conduct research, learn to cite sources and learn about copyright issues.
