Cherry, Susan Spaeth. "Special Report: Electronic Library Association born at Columbus forum." American Libraries v. 12 (May 1981): 275-6.

The new branch association related to American Library Association will deal with the issues surrounding "remote electronic access to and delivery of information". Part of their mission is to ensure electronically delivered information "remains accessible to the general public". Their goals include identifying remote electronic services libraries can provide and how to plan, fund and develop these new services and then communicate and demonstrate these new idea to librarians.

The article promotes equity of access for the blind and physically handicapped patrons and employees of libraries. Offers librarians information on different handbooks on the subject and the Federal legislation that affects our profession.
