In awareness of the worsening international situation of the time,
the ALA wanted to assist in providing political communication and information
to everyone in the United States as well as other countries. The ALA
provided five objectives in the effort to assist in international relations.

The benefits of federal aid to public library service in rural areas
under the Library Services Act had a significant impact on the improvement
of public library service to children and young people.

ALA's Library Technology Project systemized available data about
library equipment and supplies and served as an information center for
librarian's direct from ALA headquarters.
"Adult Services: Highlighting Network TV Programs."ALA Bulletin

The ALA's role in disseminating information about programs and
services for the library using the TV.
"An American Bookmobile in Moscow."ALA Bulletin vol. 53 (Oct.
1959) 766-767.
The ALA sent a bookmobile to the American National Exhibition in Moscow.
The bookmobile was an important contributor to better communication
between the two countries and to provide a new way in the pursuit of
knowledge.
