Schedule Scans
To schedule weekly system scanning, perform the following steps.
Step 1:
Open Norton AntiVirus from the applications folder on your hard drive, then click the Schedule button in the Norton Antivirus window.
Step 2:
In the Norton Scheduler window, click "New".
Step 3:
In the drop-down window, select AntiVirus Scan.
Step 4:
In the Add AntiVirus Scan Task window, do the following:
• Enter a name for the task, such as "Weekly System Scan".
• Click the Browse button, and select your hard drive.
• At Set a Frequency, select Weekly from the drop-down menu. NOTE: Updates occur when the scheduling user is logged in. If the user is not logged in at the appointed update time, the update will run the next time the user logs in.
• Select a day of the week and time you would like your computer to perform the scan.
• After completing the above steps, click the "Save" button.
