Schedule Updates
SCHEDULE DAILY VIRUS DEFINITION UPDATES
Step 1:
Open your Applications folder, then double-click the Norton AntiVirus program icon to open the program.
Step 2:
In the Norton AntiVirus window, click the "Schedule" button.
Step 3:
In the Norton Scheduler window, click "New".
Step 4:
In the drop-down window, select Product Update.
Step 5:
In the Add Product Update Task window, do the following:
• At "Enter a name for the task", type "Daily DAT update". You may also want to consider a weekly or monthly scan that will update everything, including new versions of applications.
• At "Choose a product to update", select Virus definitions from the drop-down menu
• At Set a Frequency, select Daily from the drop-down menu.
• Set the time for updates to occur, then click Save. NOTE: Updates occur when the scheduling user is logged in. If the user is not logged in at the appointed update time, the update will run the next time the user logs in.
