Tabbed BrowsingWhat is tabbed browsing? Say you're surfing along, reading an article, clicking on whatever links strike your fancy. Some of the other browsers out there will simply replace your view of the current page--as if you've changed channels on a TV set. Sometimes links will open in new windows altogether. In a matter of minutes, your desktop can become cluttered with open windows. Browsing with Tabs In Mozilla, you can open multiple sites and links in the same browser window. Each of these sites will appear as separate tabs running along the top of your browser window in a special toolbar called the tab bar. Below, we've opened five different web sites as tabs.
Notice that you can see all of these tabs at once, and click back and forth between them. You can even bookmark a group of tabs and pick up where you left off later. We'll learn more about this in a moment. How's that for clutter-free browsing? |
