SnagIt Basics
Step 6: Evaluate this tutorial

Step 4: Mark-Up the Image
You can use SnagIt Studio to add images, shapes, text or other graphic elements to your screenshot. The best way to learn how SnagIt studio works is to play around with all of the elements... don't worry, you can drag, drop, move, and delete the elements freely. You can easily highlight text in your screenshot. Go to the toolbar, which is on the right, and select the highlight tool. Then click and drag to highlight an area.
If you'd like to use an arrow to point out a certain part of your screenshot, go to the catalogue on the left and drag the element that you'd like to use onto the screenshot. You may then add text to the element. In this case I'll add "Logo" to point out the logo.
Once you've added an element, you can move it wherever you'd like. Other graphical elements you can use include shapes, pointers, clip art, and callouts. Just like with the arrow, you simply drag these onto the picture in order to use them. You can also add text blocks to your picture by selecting the text tool and then typing in what you'd like to say. In order to change the properties of this text, simply use the text formatting toolbar just above:
If you need to zoom out, you can use the magnifying glass icons. In some cases, you may want to make markings on the screenshot outside of the area you have selected for the image capture. In this case, you need to add to the canvas size. To do this, go to the "Layout" pulldown menu and select "Canvas Size." You can now increase the size, in pixels, of the area of your screenshot to make additional space to put elements outside the original screenshot if you'd like.
After you have sufficiently marked-up you screenshot, you've only got one step left, Exporting the Image for use in other applications.
