| Desc: | The SpanRead program was an outgrowth of Dr. Fountain's dissertation research. It needs to be converted from DOS to Windows. SpanRead measures the reading difficulty of text in Spanish based on a word list designed to estimate reading levels 1-8. As a point of reference: most newspapers are written at approximately grade 5.
