Desc:We need to update and develop our collection of materials in Spanish. Before we do, we would like to form an advisory committee to help us pinpoint the subject areas and types of material we should collect.

The intern will assist us in contacting prospective committee members, conducting the meeting, assessing the results, and locating materials for purchase. The intern will write two brief reports: one summarizing the results of the meeting and one recommending materials to purchase.

Desc:The objective of my capstone project is to develop skills evaluating library collections and weeding collections using the CREW method. CREW is a weeding approach that recommends using a number of criteria in volume-by-volume examination of books in a public library collection. Criteria include the physical condition of the item under examination as well as the age of the content and circulation use.
