Submitted:2009-05-04 14:57:06
When: Summer Whole 2009
Genre:Youth
Salary:Unpaid
Desc:The intern will identify engaging, in-print picture books (fiction and non-fiction) for three different ages – birth to two, two to three, and three to five year olds. Each age will have a list of English books and a list of Spanish/bilingual books. The lists will be used in a multi-county public library/Head Start early literacy project (http://readytoread.pbwiki.com/) in central Texas.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with child development and will have taken children’s literature, or have relevant experience.

Work will be performed mostly online although there will be a few meetings at our office. The intern will be invited to attend a one-day early literacy training session at no cost. We are located at 1005 W. 41st St in Austin, behind People’s Pharmacy across from Central Market.
