1960s

Linda McDonald House, '69, retired in 1996 with 31 years of librarian experience - 27 years were spent with Spring Branch ISD in Houston, Texas.

Marilyn Saffell Mitchell, '66, retired in June 2003 to Port Townsend, Washington. She was director of the Collins Memorial Library at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington for 13 years.

Yoshiko T. Sawa, '68, is enjoying the retirement life by volunteering as a guide at Royal Ontario Museum, traveling, and ballroom dancing.

1970s

Victoria Reed Bailey, '73, received a Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and served as a Methodist minister until 2001.

Barbe Meinders Bonjour, '71, retired in June 2002 as director of libraries of the Pasco County Library System in Florida.

Dorothy Bahn Buck, '70, is a librarian at East Middle School in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Phyllis Waldrep Cranz, '71, is an administrative law judge with the Fort Worth office of the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings.

Virginia Frels Fender, '70, retired after 33 years as a high school librarian, the last 25 years at Brewer High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

Darlene S. Flack, '73, is a substitute librarian for the Pierce County Library System in Tacoma, Washington.

Sharon Flournoy, '74, currently works as the Intellectual Property Resources manager at Holt, Rinehart & Winston in Austin.

Susanna Friedman, '73, retired in 1994 as a school librarian and keeps herself busy as chair of the genealogy project for the Jewish Herald-Voice Project. She has compiled "Jewish Sources in Houston, TX" for the Houston Genealogical Forum's website and for use in Clayton Library.

Lana Caswell Garcia, '77, is living in Puerto Rico while her husband is serving as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico.

Maria Engracia Gentle, '74, is a young adult librarian at Arlington County Public Library in Arlington, Virginia. She is active in various committees of ALA, YALSA and ALSC.

Reverend Jacqueline Harmon, '78, is pastor of Keltys United Methodist Church in Lufkin, Texas and was recently elected to the board of the Methodist Children's Home in Waco. Last June, she participated in a C.S. Lewis Symposium at Oxford University in the U.K.

Cathy Henderson, '78, is curator of exhibitions at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

Jan Kemp, '77, is associate director for Collection Management, Organization and Preservation at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Roberta E. Ling, '73, retired from the Library of Congress.

Jeffrey A. Rippel, '73, is now library director for Calcasieu Parish Public Library in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is the former director of the Lubbock City-County Library, where he worked for 14 years.

Dorothy Brand Smith, '71, is enjoying her retirement by traveling. Last year she went around the world, and this spring she will take a three-week cruise aboard the Queen Mary 2.

Beth Mills Stenberg, '74, is a reference librarian at Fauquier County Library in Virginia. She works at the Bealeton Branch.

Ruth M. Stiles, '79, retired from Rice University as a part-time government information librarian in February, 2003. She loves retirement and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.

Marilyn K. Montgomery Terpe, '71, is a part-time reference librarian at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Deborah Chapman West, '73, is an assistant director at Texas Tech University Health Science Center Library in Odessa.

1980s

Pamela M. Archer, '87, is a librarian at Scottish Rite Dormitory in Austin. She is also a substitute librarian for the Austin Independent School District.

Anna Covici, '82, is married and has two sons ten and six. She is a part-time reference librarian at the University of San Diego and San Diego Mesa Community College.

Jose A. Gamez, '82, is library director for Pharr Memorial Library in Pharr, Texas.

Teresa Musgrove Gibson, '84, is currently employed at John Horn High School Library in Mesquite, Texas and as a group exercise leader for 24 Hour Fitness.

Bobbie Henderson, '83, retired from Grandfalls-Royalty ISD in Grandfalls, Texas in 1992 and moved to Midland, Texas. She keeps busy playing lots of bridge, doing volunteer work at the Midland County Library, and traveling. She just returned from a three-week cruise of Australia and New Zealand.

Gerald W. Hickman, '80, retired from Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma in 2001. He is now employed part-time at the Metropolitan Library System and Putnam City School District in Oklahoma.

Ling Hwey Jeng, (MLIS)'83, (PhD) '87, is the newly appointed dean at the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas effective June 2004.

Brian E. Keefe, '87, is head of public services at the University of La Verne College of Law Library in Ontario, California.

Larry Koeninger, '82, is the director of the Fort Dodge Public Library in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Leah Krevit, '84, is associate director of collections management at the Houston Academy of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center Library.

Andrew H. Lee, '85, edited Scottsboro, Alabama: A Story in Linoleum Cuts. (New York: New York University Press, 2002, cloth; 2003, paper).

Elaine Sue Cromwell Lindstrom, '81, is branch manager in the Dayton Metro Library system in Dayton, Ohio.

Michael Munroe, '88, is an information analyst with the non-profit practice of McKinsey & Company.

Gina Hardalo Pepchinski, '85, is a parent coordinator for Project DOCC in Houston, Texas. Project DOCC teaches medical students about the challenges faced by parents whose children have disabilities and chronic illness.

Pimonpan Raper, '87, is an associate professor and dean of the Liberal Arts School at Eastern Asia University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Rose Sinclair, '84, retired in 2000 with 30 years in education, 25 of those years spent as a librarian. She moved to The Woodlands, Texas in 2001 and is now working part-time with iteachtexas, an online alternative teacher certification program, and TIMES at the University of Houston.

Margaret J. Upjohn, '81, is a science information librarian with the Physical Sciences Library at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

Cheri L. Witter, '80, is a staff attorney with Chief Justice Ken Law, 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin, Texas.

1990s

Julie (Church) Bolin, '98, is a manager of public services at the Scott & White R.D. Haines Medical Library in Temple, Texas.

Virginia M. Bowden, '94, retired from her position as library director of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas in August, 2003.

Clare Bresnan, '91, returned to Austin after living in Europe for a few years. After returning she worked for the Austin Public Library and is now working with the Austin Independent School District at JJ Pickle Elementary School.

Michael Carlson, '98, is working as a webmaster for the Empowered Training Centre in Carrollton, Texas.

C. Leigh Cody, '99, works as a catalog librarian at the Westbank Community Library in Austin, Texas.

Susan Curtis, '99, is a librarian at Crockett High School in Austin, Texas.

Laura Fowler Dear, '93, gave birth to twin boys, Charlie and Harry Dear, on December 27, 2003. She is a manager of library services at Spencer Stuart in Chicago, Illinois.

Jill Emery, '95, was selected as a "Mover and Shaker" for the March 2004 special issue of Library Journal.

Sheryl Farley, '99, is the Austin Chair for the Special Libraries Association.

Jennifer Ferro, '99, is a reference/technology librarian at Gavilan College Library in Gilroy, California.

Manuela Gandara, '96, is a library manager at the El Paso County Library in Fabens, Texas.

Jutta Gebauer, '94, is working as a school-to-career specialist with at-risk youth at Garza Independence High School in Austin, Texas. She is also an officer with the Round Rock Public Library, Friends Board of Directors.

Barbara (Linkey) Green, '96, retired from Jensen Elementary School in Pasadena, Texas, where she served 7 years as the school librarian. In June 2003 she moved from Houston to Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Corey Current Halls, '96, is a media specialist at Centennial Middle School in Lino Lakes, Minnesota.

Donna Hector, '90, retired from Pflugerville Middle School after 15 1/2 years as librarian. She and husband Greg plan to travel, do living history presentations for schools and interested groups, and do volunteer work with the historical forts in Texas.

Irma Lopez Hunt, '92, had a son, Hayden James Hunt, in August 2002.

Linda Jackson, '92, is currently in the Curriculum and Instruction doctoral program at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dell Johnson, '91, is employed at Sandia National Laboratories Tech Library in New Mexico as a research librarian. Her daughter Janeane, following in her mother's footsteps, is a student in the iSchool.

Christine Kelly, '99, is a public services librarian at Pendergraft Library and Technology Center, Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas.

Eric W. Kistler, '98, was hired to help start a law library at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He and his wife Anne celebrated the birth of their third son, Thomas, born in September, 2003. They have two other sons, Peter, 4 and John, 2.

Jennifer (Till) Laws, '96, is employed as a law librarian with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Antonio, Texas.

Richard H. Lynch, Jr., '90, retired from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas in February 2003.

Dr. Robert B. McGeachin, '92, is an associate professor and coordinator for Agricultural Library Services at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Maria Elena Ovalle, '93, is coordinator for technology integration with Region One Education Service Center in Edinburg, Texas.

Emily Painton, '99, completed a Master of Arts degree in Art History at Tulane University. She is currently the Assistant Dean of Library Services at Delgado Community College, West Bank Campus in New Orleans.

Richard Reed, '93, is a student in the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Information Science at the University of North Texas.

Heather (Wait) Reynolds, '98, is a youth services librarian at Park City Public Library in Utah.

Catherine Rhodes, '95, is an instructional services librarian at Gibson D. Lewis Library at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Katherine Stack, '98, works as a technical services manager at the Victoria Texas Public Library.

Mary K. Taylor, '98, completed the collection digitization project "Sacramento History Online" and has begun working as the metadata services coordinator for the University of Nevada, Reno.

Vona Van Cleef, '94, is in her 3rd year as assistant librarian at Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. She is an active member of the BRLA Children's Literature Interest Group and is president-elect of TLA, District 6.

Nicholas Vincelli, '95, is a librarian with the North Carolina Department of Labor.

Marilyn Wenzel, '90, works as a librarian at St. Patrick High School in Chicago - the oldest Catholic boys school in the city of Chicago.

Janelle Wertzberger, '97, is director of reference & instruction at Musselman Library, Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Kerensa Williams, '98, currently works as a librarian at Kealing Junior High School in Austin, Texas.

Matthew Womack, '96, is head of technical services at the Ela Area Public Library District in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Heather Arnold, '02, works as a project archivist for Silicon Valley History Online in California.

Mark Blair, '00, is the music librarian for Texas State University-San Marcos.

Michelle Desilets, '00, works as a business information specialist with the James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Susan L. Jackson, '02, is the librarian at Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas.

Margaret Keller, '03, is the head librarian at Cathedral High School in El Paso, Texas.

Neil Krasnoff, '01, published "Library.com: Adding Customers to Your Library Web Site" in Library Media Connection, August/September 2003, Volume 22, Number 1. He works as a librarian at Hays High School in Buda, Texas and is engaged to be married.

Sarah Bradley Leighton, '03, will begin work at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in June 2004.

Eleanor Lisney, '02, works at the Center for Health Policy and Research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts as a research coordinator.

Lori Lysiak, '00, has worked as a reference librarian at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio since February 2003.

Sarah Ziebell Mann, '00, works in New York City as a project coordinator for the Robert Wilson Audio Visual Collection, Theatre and Film Archive at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

Matthew Mantel, '01, is the reference/government contract librarian at Jacob Burns Law Library in Washington, DC.

Katherine (Katie) Poche', '03, works as a librarian at Ridgegate Elementary School in Fort Bend ISD, Texas.

Justin Saffell, '00, and Mary McLain Saffell, '00, were married in May 2003. Both work at Texas Tech University. Justin is a systems administrator for the Vietnam Project and Mary is an assistant archivist with the Vietnam Archive. Mary will visit the National Library of Vietnam in June 2004.

Jennifer Hain Teper, '00, was selected as a "Mover and Shaker" for the March 2004 special issue of Library Journal.

Laurie Thelen, '00, is the author of Essentials of Elementary Library Management. (Worthington, Ohio: Linworth Publishing, 2003).

Andriana "Andi" Windham, '01, and her husband Dwayne announce the birth of their daughter Genevieve, born on May 11, 2003. Andi left her job at Austin Public Library and is now working on preserving and digitizing her family's photographs from the 19th century.

In Memoriam Ann Fears Crawford, '88, a Texas historian, author, and educator died in May 2004.
