The IT LabThe iSchool IT Lab isn't the biggest lab on campus. It isn't the fanciest, but we believe that it is the best. Why, you may ask? One reason is that IT Services, the group that runs the lab, is comprised of current students and full-time IT staff members. We understand the special needs of iSchool students and are there to help. Unlike most labs on campus, the iSchool IT Lab is staffed by Teaching Assistants (TA's) and Student Associates (SA's). Lab staff teach you to effectively use IT so you can focus your energy on your studies. The lab offers Short Courses on various IT-related topics such as HTML coding, and using Photoshop. The lab staff also maintains Tutorial Junction, a web-based tutorial service that mirrors the content of the IT Short Courses. Another reason that we can serve you best is because your student fees run the lab. This allows IT Services to supply any and all necessary hardware, software and technical support to help further your studies. The lab features a diverse combination of computing platforms and equipment including Windows PC's and Apple G-4's, Red Hat Linux workstations, color flatbed scanners, a slide scanner and various color and black and white printers. In addition, students can borrow equipment such as PC Laptops, digital cameras and digital camcorders. Whatever your technology needs, IT Services has it covered. Finally, the lab is a place where you can develop your technology skills by helping others. IT Services is always looking to hire technologically gifted people with a committment to customer service. If you would like to get some hands on experience before you apply to the lab, we always welcome volunteers. Related Links
