Enter the iSchool JobWeb

The School of Information Career Services Office provides an opportunity for graduating students to make their résumés available to organizations that search the iSchool Web site for potential employees. The website provides an opportunity to indicate your major area of study, your major career interest, your degree and its focus, your previous degrees, and your Capstone/practicum/thesis subject matter. The entry will include links to your resume (Word and .pdf formats) and we can link to your Capstone presentation. The following is an example of how résumé entries will formatted, followed by information about how to submit your résumé information.

Important Notes:

Your résumé represents you to potential employers. It should be error free and accurately report your education, experience, and skills to answer the question, "What can you do for me now?" You only place your name and e-mail address on the online version. Online résumés for IS/IT or Web-based positions should reflect your understanding of the use of the latest technology. For Web-based positions and positions for which an online portfolio are appropriate, links to examples of your work and portfolio are excellent -- if they reflect quality work. You may need more than one résumé if you are interested in more than one type of position. If you have questions, or would like assistance with your résumé, please contact the CSO for an appointment to assist in the preparation of your online résumé by calling (512) 471-2623 or sending an e-mail to the director at rpollock@ischool.utexas.edu.

Résumé links will be posted for 3 months following a student's graduation. Résumés are listed in the CSO Web site at left in the "Employer Services" section through the "Review Résumés" link.

As early as possible in the semester in which you graduate, School of Information students should place their résumé information online by downloading the Résumé Worksheet, saving it, and e-mailing it back to our office: careers@ischool.utexas.edu.
