iSchool Grad Prepares Lincoln Bible for Obama
Dan Paterson, a School of Information alum from 2003, is currently Senior Rare Book Conservator in the Conservation Division at the Library of Congress. As part of his work, Dan helped out at the President's Inauguration by making a protective "traveling box" to hold the Lincoln Bible used to swear in Obama during the ceremony. As you can see from the image below (provided courtesy of LoC) he made the box with laminated binder's board and a core of Marva- seal so the micro-environment within the box would be as stable as possible. Further proof that iSchool graduates get the best jobs!
