In the April balloting, David B. Gracy II was elected Member-at-Large of the
Executive Board of the ALA's Library History Round Table. The association
of LHRT with Libraries & the Cultural Record, which Gracy edits, is of long
standing. LHRT appoints a representative to the L&CR Board of Advisory
Editors and gives the Justin Winsor Prize for the best unpublished article
on library history, the winner of which is published in L&CR. Further, LHRT
sponsors an annual research forum, many papers from which are subsequently
published in the journal. This year, in addition to participating in the
Executive Board meeting, Gracy will present a paper based on the first
chapter of the centennial history of the Texas State Library and Archives,
which he is preparing for UT Press publication.
